Scott Leggett is the Co-Founder & Principal of Global 1.  In addition, he is the Co-Managing Director of Convergent Same Day Orthopedic Strategies.

He is a CASA past board member serving as the Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee and as Past President. Previously, Leggett was Co-Founder of Spine & Sport Physical Therapy which still owns & operates 8 outpatient physical therapy centers in SD county and one in Walnut Creek.

Previously, he held Research & Clinical positions at the University of Florida Center for Exercise for Exercise Science & UCSD Department of Orthopedics.

In 2009, Blue Shield of California asked him and his partner, Tom Wilson, to develop a narrow network of ASCs in California that would bundle major cases moving them from the inpatient to ASC setting.


Tom Wilson is the Co-Founder & Principal of Global 1.  In addition, he is the Co-Managing Director of Convergent Same Day Orthopedic Strategies.

In addition, he is the CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Surgery Centers which operates five facilities in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties.

Wilson is a past president of Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, the California Surgery Center Association and is Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones’s appointee to the California Insurance Guarantee Association Board of Governors.

Wilson is also a leader in designing and implementing bundled payments.  He has worked with Blue Shield of California since 2009 to develop a narrow network of ASCs in California that would bundle major cases moving them from the inpatient to ASC setting.

Chip Burgett is a seasoned healthcare executive with leadership experience in all aspects of the medical insurance market: insurance carrier management, Fortune 500 benefit leader, hospital executive and entrepreneur.

Burgett was the founding partner in Burgett & Dietrich, an employee benefit services company which operates currently as Healthscope Benefits. He joined start-up BridgeHealth Medical in 2009 and built the leading company in commercial bundled payments serving major corporations. Through his leadership BridgeHealth holds bundled contracts with seventy-five hospitals and surgery centers covering over 500 unique case rated episodes of care.

Burgett’s 30 plus years in the managed care industry have provided him with a depth of experience in contract negotiation and payment methodology along with an extensive contact list with insurance carriers, third-party administrators and benefit consultants.

Michael Bailey is biomechanics trained and an expert in surgical efficiencies and medical device manufacturing.

Bailey started his orthopedic career as Product Specialist & Business Development for Osteonics Corp. He founded an independent distribution company that merged into Stryker and US Orthopedics which successfully merged into National Surgical Hospitals.

Bailey’s expertise working as a Medical Device Consultant and Business Development Specialist has led to his current success growing the Global 1 bundle payment network of more than 65 contracted surgery centers.  His focus on physician relations and surgical innovation is a key asset to the Convergent team.


Director of Nursing and Clinical Education

Christine Gallagher has been active in the ASC community for over 35 years. Her career includes development and operational management of multi-specialty and multi-site ASCs with emphasis on assuring quality care within regulatory guidelines. Additionally, Chris specializes in compliance to licensing, certification, accreditation standards and guidelines, including Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), credentialing, privileging, and peer review. She has opened a number of new ASCs in California and has consulted on numerous projects. Chris has been an AAAHC accreditation surveyor since 1998. She is also a member of the AAAHC Standards and Survey Procedures Committee.

Grady Cartwright has more than 25 years of surgical tech, materials & purchasing, revenue cycle and administrative experience in the ambulatory surgery center setting.

He is a respected professional in healthcare supply chain, procurement, acquisition and distribution of materials, equipment and services.  His experience includes operational oversight in the development and initiation of new service lines to the ASC setting.
